I really enjoyed this book, and now I want to read the first book in this series (Savvy). I love the Harry Potter books, and this had some similarities that made me very curious to keep reading Scumble. I kept wondering how Ledge was going to figure out Scumbling. I thought reading about the other family members' Savvys was quite funny. I also loved the grandfather and his exaggerated stories.

Ledge's family values keeping their savvy secret. What do you think would happen if their secret got out?
Which one of Ledge's family member's savvy would you most like to have? Why?
Did you like Sarah Jane's character? What did you think about her actions?
Why do you think Samson barely shows himself to anyone? What does his willingness to be visible at the end mean?
In what ways are Rocket and Ledge similar?
All of the BOB books have been amazing! I just finished this one. it was so cool that Ledge found a way to make his talent useful. I would love Ledge's moms savvy. I am pretty bossy so that would be like ultimate control! All of the savvys are cool though especially Marisol and Mesquites awesome levitation skills. well I have got to go clean my room.

DeleteWouldn't it be great if you had a savvy to clean your room for you? :) I was glad that Ledge was able to make his savvy useful, too.
OMG that would be sick then I could focass on more important things in my life but sinse this is a fictional book I guess I will guess I will have to do it the old fashioned way. I think Sarah Jane was cool she sounds just like me. When it is so easy to get caught in the middle of something and when your slightly annoying. that sounds like my ife story!

DeleteI don't find you annoying at all! :) I do wish that I had a savvy to do yard work. I really do NOT like raking leaves! I know this is a fantasy, but it is nice to wish!
I believe that Samson does not show himsel because he likes spending private time with the grandpa. I also think bacause he is shy and afraid to show who he really is. when he shows himself at the end I think it means that his life is coming together and it is getting easier to show his true colors.

DeleteThe book says that it is hard for someone to show their true self sometimes, and that may be why Samson stays hidden. Do you ever have a hard time showing your true self?
Not normally no. I think of it as cool to be a unique personel. I also think of myself as a crazy weird person on the island of misfit toys. But that is just me. I think that if the savvy secret got out, people would try to take advantage of them. Also they would never know who was being their real friend and who wanted to ust use them.
DeleteLedger did not like his savvy because he thought that he was going to be really fast, but it turned out that insteead of him being fast he breaks things that he looks at or touches, but he makes savvy usefull i kinda liked this book but it was really interesting to me.

DeleteThis was an interesting book to me too. I like books with characters that have magical powers- I love the Harry Potter series for this reason. I was sad when Ledge didn't get to be fast, but I was glad his savvy ended up being helpful.
This book was a vary good book! If the savvy secret got out I would panic! Coroner thing what kind of girl would want to be friends with a girl who has the ability to do a freckey talent thing. I would not.
ReplyDeleteWhat if your friend's savvy was doing something helpful- like cleaning your room or washing dishes? Then would you want to be friends with that person? I sure would! It would be bad if you had a savvy and people found out. I would not want other people to know that I was different or be afraid of my savvy.

DeleteI found this book interesting, but not my favorite of the 12 on the list. Although I'm not sure that I could pick just one favorite.
So far i love all of the BOB book 2 more to go and i can be in the competion
ReplyDeleteRemember that there are several things you must do to be in the competition! But reading 8 books (or more) and reading a few books twice is the minimum to be on the team. Keep reading!
DeleteI didnt like this book that much but he didnt like savvy becasue he thought that he was going to have a lighting fast savvy but instead he breaks things and hides them under his bed.

I loved sahra Jane because she is so Adventerus and loves to explore things just like me.She is in a way a bad person because she steals things and gets into other peoples car with out asking and gets into other peoples business and reports things that might be personal.I know that she is trying to impress her dad but still.i absolootly love this book.

DeleteSarah Jane does cause a lot of problems! I think that she means well, though. I don't think she realizes just what she is getting herself into sometimes. I think that she seemed lonely and I think she was used to acting out because it seems like she is trying to get her dad's attention.
this is a good book i love is it all starts on his thirteenth birthday its called a savvy and leager thinks he is gonna be super fast0. but he thinks wrong after his birthday he went out side to see if his savvy work but instesd he trys to run as fastas he can and he bumps into a tree and his sister and his dad runs to see if hes ok then he asked what time it is all of the sudden his dads watch break when leager look at it then they figure out what his savvy and they run to show mom and then leger is upset and he dosent want to show any body. he was upset because he wanted his savvy to be a fast runner.

DeleteI think you will be able to answer that when you finish the book- but great question! What is your prediction- do you think Ledge enjoys his savvy at first?
well one of my favorit charecter was ledge because almost in the beging from the story is when he had the power to break stuffs and her sister fedora got amoshenal
